bikehutt: History Frame built by Steve Garro in 2005, I think. Pre accident. He’s now building frames from a wheelchair. Fork built by Steve in 2012, sent to NZ in beautiful and raw unpainted form. Copper plated by some really big dude in Seaview who grunted a lot but was otherwise very amiable. Tyres donated by Ken who got them from Mark Legg and KFC while they were here. I really enjoyed riding with them, but Jesus Murphy, it hurt. Decades old Mavic Chambery rim rescued from the trash even tough it was new, because tubulars are so old school. 90s Ultegra hub was the last usable bit from a destroyed Miyata. King headset would’ve come from Jackie Sterner who worked for CK back in the days of myth. It was free along with a few other choice bits that still keep rolling…many, many bikes later. Nice new TRP v brakes. Damn, they’re great! And that dish rag that snuck in the frame. -- source link
