faire:I just wanted to make a graphic of one of my favorite scenes from ATLA. There was no dialogue during this scene, nonetheless it stands as one of my favorite scenes. Aang is broken and defeated, on his knees crying because as the Avatar he feels as if he has let down his people, his army, his friends, and his family. But his companion, friend and love kneels down on her own knees, arms wrapped around his shoulders, no words spoken, just a small reassuring smile, helps him get back up. One last drop, he takes his hands, wipes off the tears, gulps down his anguish and with Katara’s help, finds the strength to get back up. This is what Katara is to Aang, she is his strength, his spirit and his helping hand. And this is why I absolutely adore their development. After the final battle, she will continue to be there for him, allowing for him to be the Avatar that he was born to be. He has had an extreme load of troubles, he has lost his own kind, but with the Avatar Lady by his side, with her constant support, he will always learn to get back on his feet. This happens vise-versa too. Katara has lost her mother, but through Aang, she learns that revenge isn’t the only way.And that, ladies and gents, is why I believe Aang and Katara’s relationship is so solid, so amazing, and is such an integral part of the Legend of Aang that is nearly impossible to just ignore them.TL;DR I love Aang/Katara so much it hurts. (Feel free and delete this part if reblogging.)I just teared up a little. -- source link
