I’ve so far been unable to find an artist or a date for it (help anyone?) but Sergey Grigoriev’s 1946 original, Admission to the Komsomol, is shown below. For many students, I can see that such an approach would present certain advantages over the traditional considerations of class standings, essay questions, and SAT scores! -- source link
