kenmarcuserotica: Having spent 13 years of his early life studying landscape photography with Ansel Adams in Yosemite, and years later as the centerfold photographer for Playboy and Penthouse, Ken Marcus was surprised one day, to be invited to be the Artist-In-Residence at the Yosemite National Park Museum.Considering this his ‘Dream Assignment’ Ken was provided with the unique opportunity to shoot whatever he wanted, wherever he desired, anywhere in the nationals park. He was also given special permission to bring along a ‘cherry-picker’ which enabled shooting from great heights and provided angles that would not normally be accessible. Along with his studio crew and assistants, Ken brought several different types of models and spent over a month shooting 'nudes in nature’, along with traditional landscapes. His models included fine-art models, world-champion bodybuilders, actresses and centerfolds. The resulting photographs were exhibited in the Yosemite National Park Museum and were quickly censored by the head of the Parks Dept. This censorship caused quite a bit of controversy that made the front page news on 1400 newspapers nationwide and got quite a bit of television coverage. Eventually, the head ranger lost his job over this and Ken Marcus’ photographs were restored to the museum’s permanent collection. Needless to say, the publicity was great for print sales! -- source link
