ANCIENT REPOST (PROBABLY AROUND 6 YEARS OLD, SERIOUSLY) - GO CHECK OUT BO MOORE’S LATEST ART FOR EVEN BETTER STUFF!!! @bomo http://bomoore.net/anyway heres some art bo did a long time ago for me, of two recurring types of urban entities from my dreams… i cant describe them any better than my 18-year-old self did so i will just quote my past self verbatimhooded pelicans have family systems of 2-6 birds. they hunt solo but in an organized fashion, with members of the family patrolling outwards from the nest site and traveling as far as possible in a line until they hit something, then doubling back and changing their angle slightly to cover new ground in the next patrol. when they hit something they will try to determine if it is eatable. if it is eatable (and most things are) then they will fling down their hood (which is made out of any readily available material and varies from bird to bird) and use their tentacle to separate it into small pieces. pelicans are really stubborn in regards to each other and when they bump into another pelican they will stand there for a very long time, having a theoretical staring contest. the pelican that gets bored or hungry first lowers its body as a sign of defeat and the winner steps on it and walks over it so that they don’t have to break their line formation even with opposition.seven-legged cranes don’t have a set territory the way pelicans do, they’re sort of like army ants. also like army ants, they form hordes (of 20-30 birds) that scramble all over each other and just travel in a throng. mostly they march aimlessly unless they hear a commotion and then they investigate in case it is something good to eat. if it made a commotion, it is usually something good to eat. they very commonly steal kills or they just end up eating both the prey and predator. the signs are all different and are stolen from urban areas. if they lose theirs, they will pick up any old thing to replace it as long as some sort of message was involved. i saw one with a painting speared on the crane-hook once. -- source link
