jumpingjacktrash: HEY MINNESOTANS, HELP US SAVE OUR STATE BEE!Our beloved rusty patched bumblebee is endangered, largely due to habitat loss. one of its few remaining habitats is the old Paulson Tree Farm in Northfield. And right now, a developer is trying to pave it over and turn it into high-density luxury housing. Please help us stop it! Sign this petition to request an environmental assessment! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSchRMeuKtfRN-FwVfb2hcUPbLLeh6VLIutIijHweFsODVBn-w/viewformOnly Minnesota residents, please. Out-state bee-friends are welcome to spread the word, though, and thank you. (And if there’s anyone else actually in/near Northfield who doesn’t already know: yeah, this is the Schmidt Homes guy, his reputation is… not stellar around here. They’re already advertising it on their website even though they don’t have approval yet. They’ve been trying to rush the process through like they’re pulling a fast one. They’ve just been waving off concerns about traffic, storm runoff, and all the other downsides of plunking a high density complex down in the middle of a sleepy low-traffic neighborhood right across from the elementary school. It’s a clusterfracas, darlings. We can’t let ‘em do it to us.) -- source link
