rivbike: Brian and Will here have the disappearing sage colored Sam HIllbornes, which oddly were not all-that-popular when we had them in stock, but they should’ve been. No harm in killing them off (we have some 51s and 58s in stock still), since we have the luscious blue-creams and the New Striking Blacks in now.The Sam is still the bike that defines us most, more than any other. I think I’ve used “define” in that context twice in the last 6 weeks, which seems like a lot, but I don’t know how else to say it. It “encompasses our values” says it also, but seems to hifaluting. Regardless, the Sam is our Road Bike Plus, as you can see by these pix of Brian’s 55 and WIll’s 62. Nothing to change about it. We sell a fair number of Sams to riders rebounding off somebrand or other custom road frame. Sams with 28mm to 33mm tires are as roady as you need, and they fit up to 40mm tires with fenders. Drop bars, Albastache, or Albatross, no problem. Racks are easy. It all just works, and Will and Brian (and me, Grant) ride ours allatime. -- source link
