tragic—love: fawnonthelam: confessinbouthanson: **Double post “ Did Walker and Diana just avoid teaching thier kids abouts birth control? Now that Zoe is expecting a baby, after yet another Hanson shotgun wedding, they are going to have 17 grandkids? You can say you aren’t judging, but y'all know you’re either judging or your jealous. “ “ Zoe is pregnant. Avery is pregnant. Kate is pregnant. Natalie just had one. Jessica just had one. Really rooting for Nikki not to jump on the crazy baby train. There’s way too many Hanson at this point. “ Like reckless bed-hopping for decades is so much better for psychological well-being and social cohesion? How has that worked out for The Millennial Generation? Western countries are currently in a demographic crisis. Millennials grew-up with technology that makes it easy to curate and create a personality “product” that looks good on social media, which is something entirely different from developing an actual personality. It also hides the messy aspects of being human. Now many in this generation are waiting and waiting to enter marriage and start families until they meet their vision of a superhuman god with no flaws. Many who do enter marriage more chronologically mature, even later in their fertility years are bailing at a high rate and often for things that have to do with just the regular problems of being human: The product didn’t measure up to the marketing hype, send it back and look for that “Holy Grail” replacement that doesn’t exist and never will. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking and the biological race against time is on, whether Millennial women want to recognize this reality of our species or not. Having families is how humanity keeps going. The Hanson family are not an aberration for having their children and it should be noted that as recent as 1975, their family sizes would be completely typical. The Millennial Generation is the aberration in the grand scheme of things but won’t know it until it’s too late. Um. Okay. Except, people aren’t not getting married and having kids because they’re waiting for Superman, they’re not getting married or having kids because they don’t want to and thats a perfectly acceptable way to live your life if thats what you so choose. As is having a baseball team sized brood, if thats what you want. Maybe we all need to stop judging what others do with their wombs and lives and worry about ourselves. ^^^^^^ All of this. Also, like, I don’t know if you’ve noticed that our planet is overcrowded and overusing limited resources and destroying the planet and one small, personal way to affect change in that is… not adding more humans to the planet! Also, you’re damn right I’m not going to get married if I think there’s a chance it would end in divorce. I have been there. I have been through that, watching my parents’ marriage slowly collapse for years, and if never getting married and never having kids is what it takes to prevent that kind of anguish, that’s what I’m doing. Call it sad if you want, but it’s my life and it’s my choice, just as having a big family is theirs. -- source link
