practice-is-praxis: The Elemental Pentagrams can be used to Invoke, or Banish, the qualities associated with each element. 1. Take a deep breath. Imagine the quality or qualities you want to invoke, or banish, and determine which element is the best representation. 2. After determining what qualities are to be invoked, or banished, and which element they are associated with, visualize that element. Try to imagine the physical feelings of being exposed to the element. Picture the qualities you wish to invoke, or banish, to be emanating from the elemental representation in your mind. 3. While visualizing the qualities to be invoked, or banished, and imagining the element, project the visualization from your mind, and then using your dominant hand, take a breath, and vibrate “IEAOU”, one vowel sound per drawing each bar of the appropriate pentagram. Here are some qualities associated with each element, that can be invoked, or banished, as desired. Water - Emotion, Intuition, Illusions, Moodiness, Love, Dreams, Sensitivity, Insecurity, Flakiness, Avoidance, Friendship, Compassion, Following the Heart, Romance, Idealism, Depression.Earth - Stability, Security, Abundance, Prosperity, Stubbornness, Greed, Indulgence, Sensuality, Responsibility, Laziness, Perseverance, Generosity, Charity, Conservation, Frugality. Fire - Action, Anger, Sexuality, Willpower, Creativity, Desire, Stress, Burn Out, Expansion, Growth, Procrastination, Excitement, Courage, Selfishness, Spontaneity, Impulsiveness. Air - Intellect, Logic, Truth, Ambition, Conflict, Communication, Following the Mind, Spaced Out, Restlessness, Curiosity, Anxiety, Acceptance, Contemplation, Sneakiness, Breakthrough, Clarity. So an example of invoking might be: 1. Identify the qualities you wish to invoke of love of self and others, intuition, compassion, and idealism. These would be associated with invoking Water.2. Visualize what each of these qualities mean to you. Imagine the sensations of Water, while continuing to visualize. Imagine the qualities forming into a watery figure that represents them 3. Imagine the visualization being projected from your mind. Inhale. Exhale, and use your dominant hand to draw the Invoking Pentagram of Water, in the air, while vibrating “IEAOU”, one vowel sound per drawing each bar of the pentagram. 4. Repeat as desired, while focusing on the intention of increasing the qualities you want. To do this with banishing, simply go through the same process:1. Identify the qualities you wish to banish of depression, illusions, sensitivity, flakiness, emotional, and avoidant. These would be associated with banishing Water.2. Visualize what each of these qualities mean to you. Imagine the sensations of water, while continuing to visualize. Imagine the qualities forming into a watery figure that represents them to your mind. 3. Imagine the visualization being projected from your mind. Inhale, Exhale, and use your dominant hand to draw the Banishing Pentagram of Water, while vibrating “IEAOU”, one vowel sound per drawing each bar of the pentagram. 4. Repeat as desired, while focusing on the intention of decreasing the qualities you don’t want.Invoking or Banishing the qualities associated with the other elements would follow in a similar fashion. Associate the qualities you with to invoke/banish with the element they relate to. Focus your intent. Visualize and project a representation of the qualities you wish to invoke, or banish. Draw the appropriate invoking/banishing elemental pentagram over the visualization, while focusing on increase/decrease.Doing this helps to more easily visualize the desired, or undesired, qualities to be invoked, or banished, helps to focus your intentions, and is quick and easy to do often, whenever a certain quality is needed, or not wanted. Like other similar rituals, this can also be done silently, or entirely in the mind. -- source link
