Visiting Horseshoe Bend reminded me how it’s possible and powerful to love through observation. I deeply wanted to frolick in the Colorado River below to show my admiration and appreciation for its beauty, but that wasn’t an option. I had to surrender to appreciating it from above, without involvement, holding space for it to continue flowing in its divinity. In my experiences, it has sometimes been hard for me to let go thinking it would mean my love wasn’t being shown. But sometimes compassionately letting go is the deepest form of unconditional love.
