This is especially for when an Alien is STUCK. We don’t need all the tips and not every day, but just like anybody else, we might just be in a slump. I got the Idea of making my house ADHD friendly from this Video by Susan PinskyThe two biggest improvements to my adult functionality was 1.) a working garbage disposal and 2.) a motion-activated trash can ($60 on amazon for kitchen size).Let me tell you about number two, which may be responsible for the fact I do not live in a mountain of trash.Due to literally no space in my kitchen, the trash can is right outside it. It opens every time I walk by it, but that’s actually a feature. Abruptly, cleaning up kitchen trash was easy–one trip with both hands, the lid was so sensitive I could drop it in during my turn around to go back to the counter.Wait, there’s more. Because of it’s position, I walk by it every time I leave the living room to go to the kitchen, and it’d pop up, all welcome-like. I found myself just grabbing any trash I saw (soda bottles, old mail, random paper) and dropping it in because it was just right there, open and ready. Eventually, I was grabbing any trash on my path any time I went to the kitchen, for all routes required me to pass that can and it opened right when I passed it, every time.I could carry armfuls (small, but required two arms) and dump it in with literally no change in my stride to somewhere else. I am mostly trash free, though I make no promises on the dishes.So yeah, this works. Honestly, if my washer was right outside the kitchen and did that, I’d probably have no (small) (ish) mountains of clothes that only get washed when my honestly prodigial number of clean underwear finally run out.@tangelojack -- source link
