Anubis, the jackal-headed Egyptian deity who leads souls to the Underworld, depicted clad in a Roman-style toga. He clutches a sistrum (rattle associated with the goddess Isis) in his right hand and a caduceus associated with Hermes, psychopomp of Greek religion, in his left. Artist unknown; 1st/2nd cent. CE.
