pyrrhiccomedy:John Copley: Morninglight’s Fist.Judge us. It doesn’t matter.Every great achievement of civilization was made on the broken backs of whatever dumb sons of bitches had no other options besides dragging slabs of stone up the side of a pyramid. If you think we made it anywhere as a species because we were clever, you’re kidding yourself. We made it to the top because we’re mean.Oh, you’d never. You’d never resort to torture to keep your followers pliant; you’d never turn to slavery to solve a manpower problem. Well, good for you. When the people like me secure a future for the people like you, you can plant a garden on the backs of the bodies we broke to get us here, and pat yourselves on the back for being better than us. It’s the end of the world. If you want anybody to live, a lot of other people are going to have to die. The way I figure it, somebody surviving is better than nothing, no matter what we had to do to make it happen. Whatever world we make is better than no world at all. It’s a zero sum game out there. It always was. -- source link
