strangehighs:strangehighs:Not like this, Book.#ok hold on i’m bout to scream #i loooove how this movie takes 4 immortal characters who have been alive longer than anyone can imagine #and takes the youngest and the oldest of the team and is like ‘immortality is loss and grief and becoming jaded’ #which is such a classic view #but then also having these two character who are also old as fuck but haven’t become bittern and jaded or lost in grief #why? #because they aren’t alone with their feelings #they share and they communicate and they heal each other #unlike andy and booker who have internalized all of it respectively #how can you still have hope for the world if you’ve lived for so long and seen so much? #you can’t alone #but you can with love #like the movie presents us these two perspectives and then in the end when andy talks to the team #and says she and booker have been fucking it up #the movie finalises it’s argument to which side is ultimately right #what is the answer to surviving immortality? love baby (x)#prev tags yessssss #i also love the film’s lack of judgement towards booker #like he definitely did The Bad Thing and is like ? kind of ? an antagonist ? or at least an antagonistic force in the narrative #but by allying him so tightly with andy #and with her going through in many ways the exact same character arc as he does #there’s no blame for what hes done #even andys “weve been doing a shit job of it lately” #we #w e# they really took a character with an arguably blessed life and then let him have depression without demonising him for hopelessness #this f i l m what a chad (x)yall went galaxy brain on this post uh -- source link
