Our theme this year is Into the Woods! The fashion show will most likely be taking place in the afternoon on Saturday, May 25th, 2019, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.For a number of logistical reasons, we will be prioritizing individuals who can provide their own outfits / dress themselves (we may be able to supply some help with dressing, but the majority of models will be required to dress themselves). In order to accomplish this, we will be issuing…A KITSUKE CHALLENGE!KITSUKE CHALLENGE INFORMATIONAs mentioned above, our theme is “Into the Woods.” The idea is to create an outfit inspired by the forest. There is a lot of freedom in this theme. You can create outfits based on your favourite forest landscape, animal, insect, wild flower, tree or season. Or simply take a page from the Mori Girl book and come up with a foresty aesthetic. In the attached image, you can see a few examples of outfits that would qualify for this theme. These include outfits are inspired by: animals, butterflies, wild flowers, birds, seasons, and forest spirits. In order to ensure we get a good variety of outfits, we ask all potential models to submit a photo / sketch of the outfit they would like to wear for the show. We will be accepting photo / sketch submissions until March 31st, 2019. Feel free to get creative with your kitsuke. Be as conventional or unconventional as you would like. Please be aware that you will be required to provide everything you need to complete your kitsuke the day of the show.HOW DO I APPLY TO BE A MODEL?Simply comment on the Facebook link or email fashionshow@animenorth.com with your intention to take part in the kitsuke challenge, I will PM you shortly with our application form / challenge guidelines. Modelling spots will be filled based on who completes and returns their application first, not based on who comments here first. All models will be required to have a valid Anime North pass in order to participate.
