Wouldn’t he be quoting Astrid’s father when he says “bring her home”? I never assumed that he was using an actual quote. Just that he was imitating something he imagined Stoick would have said. Or that Stoick used “sundown at the latest” in some other context enough that Hiccup applies it to other situations, regardless of whether Stoick himself used those words in that context or not. -- source link
