sickbicycles: In May 2017 we had a meeting with James from @dirtmagazine - We had just started putting what we hoped would be the final pieces of Gnarpoon together. But of course it went wrong. (This would be the day we meet @ethanisafish so it was fate). We couldn’t balance tyre clearance suspension and crank clearance. I mean we COULD do it but something was never quite right. A year later we thought we had solved the problem by making the rear triangle out of carbon (with a steel front triangle - which actually looked really cool because the steel was brazed and the rear swing arm had a yellow Kevlar tweed weave) but fate dealt us a blow when at the final step before putting the bearings in, the lathe tool ripped a critical part of the bearing mount out, pretty much writing the frame off. 3rd time lucky and, unusually the problem was solved by making the swingarm out of aluminium. Will we one day see a steel / titanium hybrid version?
