alibi:records-of-fortune:Inside the so-called tomb of Clytemnestra. tholos tomb, Mycenae. c.1300-1200 BC. Although the association of this tomb with Agamemnon’s wife, Clytemnestra, is a modern one, archaeological finds from within the tomb do suggest that a woman was buried here.(by archer10 (Dennis))I was inside of this thing!! It was so.. mystifying. While my group listened to the tour guide, I wandered a bit to the right where there was a very dark chamber, blocked off to the public. I knew better than to trespass, but I did figure out that if I held down the shutter button of my camera half way, a pre-flash sort of thing would come out and eerily illuminate the room. For a few seconds at a time, I tried to make out what was inside and but then eventually snapped a quick picture to fully satisfy my curiosity. This is the only picture I took because I didn’t want to push any risks. It doesn’t look like much but I will never forget what it felt like to peer into a space such as this. -- source link
