gffa:I LOVE THAT THIS IS OUR INTRODUCTION TO THE JEDI AND THE CLONES. There is, of course, a lot to unpack re: the clones, both on an in-universe level and on a more meta about how writers tell a story level, but that this is the way we’re introduced to them and informs our understanding of them.YODA TELLING THEM THAT THE FORCE IS IN ALL LIVING THINGS.THAT EVERYONE USES THE FORCE, WHETHER YOU’RE A JEDI OR NOT. WHETHER YOU’RE FORCE-SENSITIVE OR NOT.Yoda asks to see their faces, calls them by name, has a piece of advice for each of them if they want it, tells them that they’re unique in the Force, that the Force is in all living things, which absolutely includes them. Yoda talks about how they’ll survive the war and that’s how they’ll prevail–that the Jedi are just trying to get through this war so that everyone can go home and stop fighting and live again.Yoda even directs them to use the Force as well, because the Jedi have always known that the Force belongs to all living things. In the second episode of TCW, there’s Plo Koon telling Wolffe and the others that their lives are more important than chasing after a weapon, and that’s another point of how this is our introduction to the Jedi and the clones, that this is the foundation they have. Yes, the war grinds everyone down and there’s a shitload of fuckery going on because the Senate is sliding into moral decay (and that Propaganda book really hammers home how it’s the decay of the Senate/the government in charge that’s dragging everything out) and because Palpatine is engineering this entire thing to crush the Jedi and the Republic so his Empire can rise. This is why Palpatine wanted them destroyed, because the Jedi believed the Force belonged to everyone. That maybe some could use it better than others (and that’s just how the SW universe works, either you’re Force-sensitive or you’re not), but it was never just theirs. People who had no training and who weren’t Force-sensitive? Yeah, of course, come on over and use it to help yourself, too!AND I CRY ABOUT THEIR LOSS IN THE GALAXY, THEY CARED SO MUCH.DAVE FILONI: "So when [Yoda] gets a moment, it’s very important to him to express to these clones that ‘Your real abilities lie within. You’re not just a number to us. We believe in you.’” -- source link
