The death of a loved one is never easy, but this one has been especially difficult. Last week I lost one of my favorite friends in the entire world. Johnny was my first crush in elementary school. I used to write about him in my diary (with hearts around his name) and even bought a Steelers jacket to wear around school in hopes it’d make him like me. It didn’t work (I didn’t stand a chance), but we later ended up becoming really close friends and we laughed about that stupid jacket for years. Johnny was just the happiest, most fun person to be around, and one of the sweetest people you’d ever meet. He helped me get through some of the hardest times in my life and I’m not sure he even knew it. I have so much heartache and I know that this pain will ever go away, but I will forever remember his kind heart, his hilarious comments, and that contagious laugh. Johnny’s family could really use some support if there are any friends willing to help some strangers in a time of need.
