Happy December! Slaughtering an ox is the Labor of the Month this month, as presented in LJS 449, a 15th century Medical and astronomical miscellany from Germany that includes a full calendar. Killing pigs (as below, from another 15th century German manuscript from Nürnberg, now in Zürich, Zentralbibliothek, Ms. C 54, p. 17r – Codex Schürstab (www.e-codices.unifr.ch/en/zbz/C0054/17r from Flickr https://flic.kr/p/dxEU6s) and baking are other common labors for the month of December.
