60npermaculture:Meet the newest member of our pack, Mila! Mila was found abandoned with her little brothers and sisters in Vyborg, Russia in mid August 2015. She came to Finland in December with Viipurin Koirat ry and we adopted her over this past weekend. Viipurin Koirat has an exceptional website for a rescue, which made it easy to compare dogs and see that they were being taken care of. They have a lengthy adoption process and really do put the dogs first, with all their heart: we came home with a huge bag of puppy chow, a leash, harness, toys, blanket (as a bed), and her passport (which has English thankfully; her name was originally Tuchka [meaning “Spot”]). (Note, we would have been happy to adopt from St. Petersburg again but the group that saved Robin no longer exists, so we looked elsewhere)Mila was described as “reippas” which roughly translates as “dashing, cheery, smart.” Or, as my wife says: “like a Scout!” She is full of energy, unafraid of anything, and even tells Robin she won’t back down. He is still getting used to having a five month old puppy around, but yesterday they actually played for the first time together and he is quickly taking to her. She, of course, is copying his every move so we are happy that Robin has become such a great dog over the past three years.Anyway, look forward to seeing Mila & Robin either purposely or photobombing my entries from now into the future :)Awwwwww what a cutie!!!! -- source link
