Seo é “Seachtain na Gaeilge” agus seo é “Díleagra don Domhnal Ó Cathaláin. by National Library of Ireland on The Commons Seo é "Seachtain na Gaeilge” or this is Irish Language Week and all those who can are asked to use the language as much and as often as they can. For that reason it is appropriate and fortuitous that today we have a beautiful illuminated address in that language from the Poole Collection. For those of you younger than Morning Mary you may never have used the script on the illustration with the accents and letter formats but it does have a special beauty for those of us who did! P.S. Wee public service announcement! We’re a friendly and inclusive bunch here at the National Library of Ireland Flickr stream. We love the research and the to-ing and fro-ing of good-natured arguing that goes on around our photographs. However, I deleted a comment under yesterday’s photo – something that we hardly ever need to do – because of an F-word expletive. So please CONTINUE to keep it clean.
