hannibalnuxvomica:existingcharactersdiehorribly:mysteriouslysexyphilosopher:v-e-l-v-e-t-g-o-l-d-m-i-n-e:Will Graham + Nonverbal answers for HannibalI’ve been contemplating this every time I see this gif set going around and I would love other people’s opinions on it. Is Will lying in the first set? Bc now that he’s killed its easier to imagine the thrill bc he’s felt it himself and that scares him and he doesn’t want to acknowledge it so he lies to Hannibal? Is that whats happening? No, he’s not lying. He’s telling the truth - a very painful truth. It’s harder letting himself imaging that thrill, that spring of zest, because it’s no longer theoretical. It’s no longer his gift of imagination, it’s not longer his perfect empathy. Will too knows the thrill. He can recognize it in somebody else, not just because he has the gift of imagination and empathy, because he can remember how he felt when he killed Hobbs. It’s harder, because he doesn’t want to allow himself to feel it. Because he can’t let himself admit that he enjoyed it himself. That’s what Hannibal is asking him to admit, and that’s what Will’s sad little headshake is admitting to. ^^^^^ Good explanation@mysteriouslysexyphilosopher I was also confused by this dialog in the exact same way until someone explained it to me. I think a lot of people may have been? You can see it after you get what they’re actually talking about, but it’s a little ambiguous before then. -- source link
