Giant list of cool things in cities around the world (in progress)Working on a new wiki! The r/zerowaste community continues to be very inspiring, and they decided to start a wiki page on helpful links - city by city - across the world. It is basically a giant list of cool things - bike shares, tool shares, coops / bulk shopping, farmers markets, repair cafes, etc. Like many of the endeavors on the list, creating the list itself is a grassroots project, so please feel free to participate! If you know of great projects in your area this is a wonderful place to share them. r/zerowaste has almost 20,000 members.Check the link out if you’re into zero waste, diy, solarpunk, permaculture, the environment, frugal living, minimalism, cooperatives, supporting your local economy, etc.Researching stuff for this was both incredibly inspiring and a bit sad. There are so many good people around the world trying to do good things! Alas, some projects just don’t receive enough support or willing volunteers to keep goingFarmers markets DO fail; tool banks and community gardens DO just fall off the map when the main volunteers move away and no one else steps up. If there’s something worthy going on in your community, I highly recommend helping out, even if it’s just helping to spread the word that it exists. Take nice pictures and geotag them; give good ratings and reviews online. -- source link
