Elisabeth Neckelmann (Nov. 6, 1884 - 1956) was a Danish autodidact painter (she did receive some home training from her stepfather, Peter Hansen, and drawing classes from Fritz Syberg). She was associated with the Funen painters, like Hansen, and did many flower and landscape paintings up in Odsherred. She was also an accomplished portrait painter, and her portrait of Queen Alexandrine (1943) still hangs at Kvinderegensen in Copenhagen.Neckelmann was a lesbian and active in improving conditions and financing for women artists.
