Edvard Weie (Nov. 18, 1879 - 1943) was a Danish Modernist painter. He was rejected by the Academy, and studied for a while with Zartmann, but they had a falling out during a trip to Italy. Weie didn’t like groups or labels, and his art has an unusually wide range of styles and genres.He became increasingly colorist as he grew older, and experimented with contrast colors and abstraction, even in portrait and landscape painting.
