June’s Simple Things Magazine illustration is for short story, Brass Rubbings. Summer colours with somber tones for this one as the story is about a couple who take a last trip away together. It’s really sad.Part of the story is set in a countryside churchyard and hope the use of gravestones and shadows here isn’t too heavy handed. I really wanted to play around with composition and landed on this angle of the couple from above. It’s a beautiful sunny day and we are watching a small snapshot of it.
