In Memory of Khaled al-Assaad,As Chief Archeologist of Palmyra, he oversaw the evacuation of artifacts from the city’s museum before being overrun by ISIS. He was captured in May, and despite being tortured refused to reveal the location of where the artifacts were hidden. He was beheaded by ISIS on August 18th. -- source link
