erebusodora: …and how to avoid them. by erebus-odora This actually sounds like a tolerable title for a field diary of Percival Graves, but there you go. A friendly reminder that Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them happen in America in 1926, which matches the years of literature activity of one H.P. Lovecraft. A friend gave me this idea, and I would have been damned if I didn’t try to make it (more or less) real. I’d watch/read/paint the Hell of this idea, to be honest… And here’s a fun fact: I needed a counsel of two of my friends and fellow artists to decide if I managed the character’s resemblance to Colin Farrell. As some of you might remember, I had my difficulties painting Edward Hogg (I still do, sometimes, for he is A LOT OF PEOPLE, constantly changing, like a river flow), but that doesn’t even come close to my difficulties with painting Mr Farrell. Some part of my perception automatically switches into kinesthetic mode as soon as I start working, I guess, and the more detailed the painting gets the less satisfied I am. This is worse than having your painting staring back at you. The worst part is that I’m too stubborn to keep from trying to get the painting right, so… wish me luck. -- source link
