inquisitorhotpants:drst:la-sirena-amor:kahtiihma:mentaljen:animatedamerican:colettel04:mysharona1987:There is no part of this diatribe that is not amazing or 100% true.SAY IT AGAIN FOR ALL TO HEARThe line I saw a while ago that seems relevant: “There is no such thing as unskilled labor, only undervalued skills.”I can’t find a counterexample. As someone that’s worked several years in retail I can confirm this is beyond true and accurate.every friend i know in white collar jobs just sits on their asses and watches netflix at works and me and my blue collar friends bust our fucking asses for peanuts^yup that last comment though.Food bev and hospitality at ur service it’s the same shitRetail food service in a mall and assembly line work in two different factories. Don’t ever shit on people who do blue collar work around me. I’ve never worked harder than I did at those jobs. The minimum wage is supposed to be a living wage. #fightfor15The fastest way to piss me off is tell me minimum wage workers don’t do anything so they don’t deserve a better minimum wage. People that say that have never worked at one of those fucking jobs EVER, or if they did the last time was when they were fifteen.I interact with high level reps and suppliers on a regular basis, plan a good 80% of my store’s events, oversee product research/special orders, attend training sessions on new trends/cutting edge products in my industry and have what should amount to a basic degree in pet health and nutrition and I can assure you that my raise for my year of service won’t be over 10 cents. -- source link
