pinkoil: happy 3 years of being natural to me! i bring gifts lol here’s my fave products from the past year and a few tips ***i have low porosity hair so i avoid weighing down my hair and benefit from ingredients like glycerin, aloe, and honey because they retain lots of moisture! Curls Crème Brule Curl Creme: fave!!!Mielle White Peony Leave In: fave!!!Made Beautiful’s True Leave In: bomb but slightly less moisturizing as the other two BUT i love how it looks and smells like whipped mango lolDIY mist: fill bottle halfway with water, add 20 drops of rosemary essential oil, add vegetable glycerin (i use 2 tablespoons but you may like more or less). shake! 16 oz of glycerin lasts me about half a year so i end up saving leave in conditioner! i still like using leave ins for the nutrients. As I Am Smoothing Gel: remember gels work best on moisturized hair!RA Cosmetics 100% African Shea Butter: use this for styling. my hair can’t handle shea butter in chunks so i rub a little bit between my fingers and use that waxy residue to coat my hair. Grapeseed oil: use this for haircare and skincare! i’m in the process of testing out DIY shampoos and conditioners so i don’t want to recommend anything just yet adding some glycerin, aloe vera juice, scalp friendly oils (grapeseed, jojoba, sweet almond, jojoba), or honey can help make your shampoo or conditioner more moisturizing. adding honey to conditioner is my fave thing to do cuz it gives incredible slip and speeds up absorption! washing hair in braids/twists prevents tangles. press/pat them as you wash and rinse. hair snapping back up and shrinking is enough to form a new tangle. keep your hair continuously stretched as you finger detangle!regimen: my fave style is to do 12 twists and turn them into 2 french braids. i wrap my ends with string to protect them. i also wear wigs sometimes. i wear a silk/satin durag to sleep and wash my hair in twists/braids about every 10 days. shampoo + deep condition 30 mins with plastic cap + towel on top. t-shirt dry. add leave in conditioner. massage grapeseed oil into my scalp. if the twists/braids are still very neat i leave them alone. everyday i spray my DIY mist. that’s it! -- source link
