monsieurleprince: Charles Sprague Pearce (1851 - 1914) - The shawl, 1900 This is another post-Regency painting, although I’m not sure when it’s supposed to be set. The style of the woman’s clothing strikes me as closer to circa 1820 than 1900 when it was painted.In any event, this is the closest thing I’ve seen to a portrait of “my” Miss Lopez. Incidentally, it’s also the only one of these paintings I’ve seen in person. It’s held by the Chazen Museum of Art in Madison, WI. -- source link
