patrickhumphreys: Maynard Keynes’s bedroom at Charleston. The linen chest was painted by Duncan [Grant] in about 1917. Inside the lid is a mythological scene humorously entitled ‘Leda and the Duck’; he did several versions of this motif whose title was a gentle send-up of ‘Leda and the Swan’ of Greek legend.
