Films Watched in 2021- (18/???)My Own Private Idaho (1991) - Gus Van Sant (3.5/5)I’ve spent my whole life assuming this was a proto-Brokeback, walking so Jake & Heath could eventually run; I’ve never been happier to be wrong. There’s maybe one scene that deals with an actual relationship, but the rest is a loose adaptation of a Shakespeare historical play, complete with a sprinkling of surprisingly clear bard-inspired dialogue. My main takeaway: narcolepsy is surprisingly violent, rather than the humorous depictions you typically see in media. RIP, River. -- source link
