GRAND CANYON SUNSET by Bob Fugate This was my evening view on the last night of our 226 mile raft trip down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon in late August, 2019. As the sun set out of the frame to the right, the distant peaks started to glow a very deep orangish-red, illuminated by the last light in the western sky. I wanted to capture that red glow and the emerging stars in evening sky - a breath taking, mesmerizing scene. So I shot two images, the landscape about 40 minutes after sunset and the sky shortly after using my tracking mount. You can see the aft end of the two rafts at the right edge of the frame. My campsite was immediately behind the spot where I shot this image, so I had a wonderful nighttime view from my sleeping bag, all to the soothing sounds of the Colorado’s persistent flow. This campsite was a perfect ending to an unforgettable experience. https://flic.kr/p/2iju69j -- source link
