xion1212:thesylverlining: askladyazimuth: broughttoyoubytheletterfive: laceuprainbow: muddyinsanity: The Spaceport this movie was the coolest fucking thing and it makes me really sad that they cut off the second one THEY WERE GOING TO DO A SECOND TREASURE PLANET AND DIDN’T WHAT THE HELL NO BRING IT BACK it took 2 years to animate this scene. This was one of THE most memorable moments of my movie-going childhood. This is what sticks in my mind. You look out the window, and see the crescent moon. Then you get closer. You can see things moving around it, shapes resolving themselves into something different, something more. Suddenly you realize - that’s no moon. (And only now do I get the visual reference probably intended here!) Beautiful. Just a shining moment of wonder, seeing something become something entirely different and greater before your eyes. I feel like that was something the old Disney movies had that later ones didn’t, really, that sense of wonder and magical surprise. I love Treasure Planet. Always will.
