ellabebella: First Dinner Date I started seeing a man recently. He is maybe an unlikely choice for me, at least as far as my friends think. He is older and sort of domineering in a quiet paternal way. We had been planning a dinner date for awhile but many of the restaurants here have been closed until recently, with only a few opening with limited seating. We had a conversation over top of the menus and he asked me what looked good to me. I told him the chicken pasta entre they had looked good. He raised his eyebrows and crinkled his brow and seemed oddly displeased with my choice. “That looks good I suppose,” he told me. “Its not what I imagined you ordering in my head though.” I found it odd that he would have imagined my order before hand and why it would matter that much, expect maybe the price. I was a bit flustered and upset that I had disappointed him already. “What did you imagine?” I eventually asked him. “I just pictured you ordering a salad is all. They have some very nice salads here. Not sure why I got that image in my head. But I am sure the pasta will be very good.” A little pathetically I found myself suggesting, “Salads sound good too”. To this he smiled softly and nodded. “Caesar Salad maybe…” I said reading the menu, only to look up and see him frowning slightly. “I am sure its good, garlicky though I would think….” He paused “The avocado salad I hear is very good.” I raised by menu because I felt my face blushing a little. This was frustrating and embarrassing to be manipulated this way by him but a very big part of me seemed to like it too. After a moment I found myself asking his permission. “May I have the avocado salad?” He grinned a bit smugly and said, “Why of course sweetie you may.” He took my menu at that point and when the waitress arrived he ordered for me. He had a steak. After the meals came he asked me how my salad was. I told him it was delicious and thanked him. For the record, it was a good salad - just saying. He sounds lovely! -- source link
