auxiliari-san:Another attempt at creating a kimono coord, this time with my new awase Iromuji + Nishijin Fukuro obi… (Obiage & Obijime are just made from various craft supplies I had available, also my camera just can’t seem to capture the right colours of the silk. T___T )tanuki-kimono you had such helpful advice last time I posted, if you have any thoughts on this it would be much appreciated! ^-^(I was trying to work with the formality of the obi in this outfit, and still searching for an Irotomesode to match as well.)I think it’s a gorgeous outfit auxiliari-san <3 Formality speaking, this (gorgeous) obi is maybe a tad too formal for this iromuji (which has no crest). But iromuji are very useful and you would probably have no problem at all wearing this coordination even at a formal event. I have seen Japanese kimono wearer using embrodered patches (like the one below) as custom crest. Those patches are often on the big side but it’s okay, it actually mimic how crests (mon) looked like in the past days (they were colorful and huge!). It maybe a good idea if you wish to custom your iromuji :)Concerning accesories, as this obi is formal, you could use a date eri, those decorative collars which add a nice pinch of color : And for the obijime, if you’d like a younger/ more modern look, trying to add a thicker one would be cute! And if you want to go up in formality, try one with gold/silver ;)Hope it helps ^^ -- source link
