thisis an au where Sinbad is a very young god and his job is to watch over theworld, for a few thousand years he does it and during that time he takesinterest in humanity and studies how people live their lives, and he’sfascinatedthen the cold harsh feeling ofloneliness hits him and Sinbad realizes he’s alone, there’s no one else likehim so he tries to repress these feelings and focuses on his so called jobbut he’s unable to hold these feelings inside so he yells, screams and criesinto the air about how he wants to be one of those humans, he had enough ofbeing alone and he can’t understand what’s the point in only watching the worldwhen he could be part of ithe gets his wish granted and he wakes upin the physical/real world and during one of his adventures he meets Ja’far andthey join forces, and Sinbad couldn’t be happier, he finally found someone hecan talk tobut what Sinbad doesn’t know is that Ja’faris the devil in disguise so he catches on pretty quick how differently Sinbadacts compared to an ordinary human, he tricks Sinbad into admitting he’s a godand explain how he managed to become a mortaland as he explains, something inside ofSinbad’s mind clicks, he didn’t do anything, someone else must’ve granted hiswish, therefore he was never truly alone, Sinbad feels like he needs to know who it wasand Ja’far encourages him to go back, promising he’ll be next to him ‘til theendand Sinbad is grateful so he accepts hiscompany, because he doesn’t know about Ja’far’s true intentions, he wants to takehis place but the more time they spend together the closer they become soJa’far starts having doubtswhen Sinbad finally figures out a way hecan go back Ja’far just smiles sadly and says goodbye, but Sinbad doesn’t wantto let him go and reminds him that he promised he’d be there next to him, every step of thewayJa’far tries to talk himself out of itby claiming that no human should set foot where Sinbad was planning on going,he already fulfilled his promise, let that be enoughbut Sinbad isn’t having it and drags Ja’farwith him, then they find themselves where Sinbad used to watch over the world dayafter day, but unlike before there’s someone waiting for him so he runs towardsthe mysterious figurestanding in front of this person, hemeekly introduces himself and waits for a response but a yelp catches hisattention so he turns his head to where the sound came from and sees thatJa’far is being held by an invisible forceand that’s when his wish granterintroduces himself as David, he talks to Sinbad calmly and wants to know if hehad his fun, is he ready to take back his role, but instead of answering Sinbadasks him to let go of Ja’farthe hold on him just tightens whileDavid informs Sinbad about who Ja’far truly is then immediately promises he’llget rid of him and Sinbad just looks at Ja’far confusedly, but when the hold getseven tighter, Ja’far can’t hold the eye contact anymoreSinbad yells, demanding Ja’far tobe set free and David explains how dangerous Ja’far is so it must be done, hedoesn’t need to worry about it but Sinbad refuses, saying Ja’far is only herebecause of him and David gets mad real fasthe yells back at Sinbad for not only trustingthe devil but defending him too and then he takes a deep breath and declaresthat if Sinbad dares to defend the devil one more time, he’ll be foreverbanished from this placeSinbad orders David to let go of Ja’farand announces that they’ll be leaving this place for good and after a moment ofhesitation David obeys and the two of them return to the physical worldSinbad immediately checks on Ja’far whostarts apologizing immediately but Sinbad stops him, saying it’s not his faultthen Ja’far asks him to think everything over, he could still go back and begfor forgivenessand Sinbad snaps, he tells him that he’dbeen there for who knows how long, alone, he didn’t even knew David existed, heleft him all alone on purpose while Ja’far was constantly there for him he tells Ja’far that it doesn’t matterwhat he is, he proved himself trustworthy when he said his farewells thenSinbad adds, smiling, that he doesn’t mind being a mortal if it’s with himJa’far returns the smile and answersthat he’s stuck as a mortal too because he couldn’t show his face afterabandoning the plan of taking a god’s place, the two of them share a laugh andmake a promise to live their life as ordinary humans, together -- source link
