He set the last box down in the corner of the room, and stood up. His back aching from all of the lifting and carrying the whole truck full of things up 2 flights of stairs. He looked around, at all of it and cursed in barely a whisper at all of the other ‘help’ that either never showed, or left shortly after showing up, just putting in their appearances as 'helpers’. His thoughts trailed off as he heard her step across the new hardwood floors of the apartment. He looked to see her black suede and gold heels clicking as she slowly moved from the bed room, across the living room, and sat on the TV stand by the window. His eyes worked their way up along her legs, to her hips and body which looked like it had the small black dress simply painted on. “In case you’re wondering,” she smiled as she pulled her hair back, showing off the fresh dark lipstick she had put on as well, “… they didn’t bail on helping.
