The German Occupation Krag Jorgensen,When the Germany Army conquered and occupied a nation during World War II, they took over all the industry and resources of that country to serve the German war effort. The same occurred during the occupation of Norway. German forces demanded that the Kongsberg weapons factory produce arms for the German Army. The Wehrmacht ordered a total of 13,450 Krag Jorgensen rifles from the Kongsberg factory. However, the Norwegian people were not exactly thrilled with the prospect of being forced to manufacture arms for their new overlords. Due to sabotage and intentionally slow work by employees, only around 3,500 to 3,800 were rifle were delivered. German occupation Krags also tend to be of much lesser quality than their pre-war counterparts as the fine workers of the Kongsberg factory put little effort into producing fine quality weapons for their enemies.Of the Krag rifles delivered, most were issued to secondary units such as reserves, guards, and police. Others were issued to occupation troops in Norway, or to pro-Nazi forces of the Norwegian puppet government. -- source link
