The final birds are here! A griffon vulture, a kingfisher, and a pileated woodpecker. The kingfisher and woodpecker are both commonly seen in my area, and I’ve seen a (different species of) vulture here once, too. In the movies vultures always look unpleasant and scrawny, but the one I saw was breathtaking– a very large bird, with massive, beautiful wings and an aura of intelligence. I was very impressed with it, and wanted to channel a bit of its feeling here. :)And so all the birds are revealed! Stick around tomorrow to see one more photo: the entire sampler all together!
