Comfortable Shoes: on this tour that spanned over 400 some odd kilometers, I took my regular street shoes. I used to be a diehard clipless bike shoe advocate, but regression is sometimes progression. Sure, being clipped in allows one to pull the pedal as well as pushing it, theoretically making pedaling smoother and more efficient. The gains however are minimal and we’re not hoping to take the Maillot Jaune on the tour de France. On a more leasurly tour, it’s best to take your time and when you get there not have to walk like a duck advertising the fact that you’re a cyclist who is equipped and invested. A good pair of wide platform pedals and sneakers are the way to go. -- source link
