highsynberg:Miss Rosé is the embodiment of what I love about young horses. They’re curious. Everything fascinates them. A mind like hers without human interactions that have disturbed it is bold and inquisitive. She looks at something she doesn’t understand (and maybe fears a bit), and trots up to it with her ears perked and her tail up ready to react if she has to, but willing to check it out first. She listens to everything and looks to me for reassurance when she doesn’t know if her response was correct. She responds in a way that leaves me without question that she either understood or did not. There’s no in between with her. She’s the calm waters or the tidal wave and it’s what I value so deeply about working with horses like her. You get exactly what you put in and they ARE your mirror.I went a week without seeing her due to health problems and subsequent eactions to my medication. I felt well enough to spend some quiet time with her today and she was much happier to see me than I’d expected her to be. She wanted to please today and she was respectful but all over me with her muzzle. Grooming time alone brought us both a lot of happiness today. I feel I’m on the right path with her training because she missed me, and didn’t skip a beat in our work on the lunge and at liberty.Tonight I feel some peace. Thanks to this fiery girl, bucks and all ❤ -- source link
