“She’s very pretty” my wife stated, plainly, not even looking up from her crossword.“Hm, what?” I replied, confused, quickly closing down Instagram but pretending to be drawn momentarily away from the “book” I was reading on my tablet that evening. In reality, Melissa had just PM’d me a picture of her kitten.“Melissa, your new office manager,” she continued, as she erased something off her puzzle, “I saw her new picture, on the website. She’s quite pretty.”My heart began to race. Crap. “Oh, is that up already? I had asked her to work with Marisela, to update the site…”Obviously eager to be recognized, Melissa had asked earlier in the day about updating our website, removing Jeannette from the “Meet Our Staff” section and having herself added. Seeing no harm in it, I hooked her up with Marisela - a former scribe of mine who now mostly handles our EMR, does our tech support…and manages our website. She obviously had wasted no time in having Melissa take a selfie today in that low-cut sweaterdress that jiggled its way into my office this morning. Barely appropriate for work, it was certainly not what I would’ve imagined for her outfit for our practice marketing. It was low-cut to begin with, over that conspicuously outsized chest but If anything, it looks like she had tugged down on the neckline for the shot…was that her idea or Marisela’s? Who, except the horribly naive, would think that was okay for a medical office’s website? And the copy she’d come up with…well, I’m just glad she gave me the chance to edit/rewrite it with her, as she’d sat so close to me on the desk, that perfume all around me. As befuddled as I was, I think I was able to come up with something sensical and appropriate.But that photo, the one my wife’s obviously now seen…nnnngh. I’ve already jerked off to it today, furtively alone in the bathroom with my phone during lunch.“She looks young,” my wife continued, obviously intent on something, “what is she? 19?”“Haha no,” I laughed, feigning nonchalance, “she’s, uh, 26 I think. Maybe 27?”Her birthday’s in March.
