Last Tuesday (Sept 14) we went to finally see Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Ringsand of course there wasn’t anything for it no cups or buckets or anythingwhich I wasn’t surprised about. Now as for the movie I thought it was excellent! I really enjoyed it and the people I was with enjoyed it also I’m going to try to not spoil to much but there might be some Spoilers ahead~I loved the story it was a great “origin” story for the character and I did like how it was done where it did focus alot on the present day but told all I think relevant backstory though perfectly placed flashbacks that didn’t didn’t disrupt the natural flow of the movie. also I didn’t feel like there was any slow parts in this this movie always seemed like it just went straight ahead and had great pacing. I liked Simu Liu as Shaun/Shang-Chi I think he was perfect for this movie and I felt that he was a very likable guy and you do care for him thought this movie and he has this amazing chemistry with Awkwafina who plays Katy his best friendI also loved Awkwafina’s Katy she was amazing and a great partner for Shaun/Shang-Chi and their chemistryproduces alot of the comedy as they bounce off of each other. I kind of feel that she is the female version of Michael Peña’s Luis and I would love to see them have a scene together I also like how she has this bit of personal growth where she does go form being kinda goofy to having this mature hero moment of her own. I’m also happy that they finally introduced the One True MandarinTony Leung Chiu-wai and I thought he did a good job over all but I didn’t think he was as Evil and villainous as I thought he was going to be. I guess I expected a bit more from the character but I’m not going to fault Tony Leung Chiu-wai because he did a great job. I was also happy and surprised to see that they brought back Ben Kingsley to play Trevor Slatteryonce again and finish out that charactersstory as you see what happened to him after the events of Iron Man 3 as well as the short follow up One-Shot: All Hail the KingThis character is just so fun and crazy to watch and he plays him so perfectly. and of course he has alot of weird crazinessgoing on like you would expect from this character. and speaking of Trevor Slattery they do reference and talk about the eventsof Iron Man 3 in this movie. Now the movie itself was great it was a good Origin story, the action was amazing the bus fight and the one on the bamboo scaffolding were awesomethe fights and stunts and all that were excellent. The visual were amazing too I loved the scene with Wong and Abomination but that leads me to thinking why is Abomination hanging out with Wong? but yeah the movie has plenty of action and some great humor and at its core it is a story about family and finding your place in it as well as the world. One tiny thing that kinda bothered me tho was the Rings. I did like the fact that they were bigger and worn on the forearm instead of one per finger like in the comics. The bigger rings give it a better visual impact but the tiny thingthat I was kinda disappointed with is in the comics each ring does its own thing/has its own power but they didn’t didn’t do that in this I thoughtmaybe it was too much to have it like that? and it was better to have the power(s) more streamlined? I don’t know? but that was really the only problem I had with this moviebut yeah the movie is great I totallyenjoyed it so I would recommendAlso don’t leave too quickly! there is two credit scenes on Mid which was quite surprising and one after. -- source link
