Wild and Tame Runes… A good time for the watchful eye and latent potential of Isa, the heedful hare. Finally painting/drawing again and I’m injecting these with only a few natural, self-brewed pigments: Verdigris (copper acetate), rust (iron oxide), buckthorn, indigo, copper leaf and gold leaf.(so.. despite researching countless sites on indigo dyes and pigment, not a single one informed me that .. indigo powder smells exactly like a freshly manured farmer’s field after the rain.. Or maybe just the one I got?? Not a complaint, it’s just extremely evocative and seems like a critical detail to me.
