renatagrieco:April 23, 2018 - Yellow-legged Gull (Larus michahellis)Previously considered a subspecies of the European Herring Gull, these birds breed along the coasts of the Mediterranean. They are found in western and southern Europe, as far east as Turkey and Georgia, and in Northern Africa. Omnivores with varied diets, which include fish, invertebrates, mammals, refuse, offal, and eggs, they sometimes steal food from other seabirds. Nesting in colonies, monogamous pairs build their nests on the ground or on cliffs, lining them with grasses, feathers, and debris. Both parents incubate the eggs. -- source link
