gymbunnycandie: Ab WorkNice, slim, tone abs; perhaps in the 6-8 pack variety. Lots of sweet boys want girly and sexy abs, few ever find them. It’s possible to have a beautiful slim midsection. It’s not unattainable. It’s not necessarily genetics at play or simply because you’re an aging man. It takes patience, discipline, and hard work. Girly-boys, you can do it.Since I’m dealing with the abs, there are a few things that i want you to know. 1) It’s a kitchen issue, not a gym issue. 2) Sexy may look like rippled abs, but that is not a sign of great health. It wasn’t the icon of health 30 years ago when rippled midsections were not the craze. 3) Most of what you see in magazines, movies, and other forms of media are models greased up under great lighting and photoshopped. Be sure, they are fit and slim and have great cores, but often over-exaggerated with a special touch. And by the way, i don’t mean to take anything away from those who have achieved it naturally. I have done it, though I’m definitely not there now. 4) Ab work is about strength. You don’t do work abs to lose fat. And 5) I want your feminine goals to be realistic. Set goals that are attainable, not imaginary, which includes doing good exercises in your best girly wear.Any whole-body exercise is a great exercise for the abs. Squats, dead lifts, cleans and jerks, snatches, lunges etc. Also, various forms of bench, overhead presses, and back exercises and many others will work the abs in a big way. Today, however, I want to focus your attention on the static leg raise, which of course, will always demand pretty colored leggings.I used to have this special love-affair with crunches. I thought, in my inexperience with training, that they were the “go-to” exercise for great abs. “If i can pound out more and more and more crunches, the abs will come.” That never happened. They weren’t all bad, they just weren’t efficient.Leg raises are where it’s at. It’s not the only exercise for your girly fit abs. It may not be the best for a feminine midsection, but they are fantastic; and with a good diet, your core can look great under you pink fitted tank.What to do As with most exercises, there are more variations than your panty collection. I love leg raises with gymnastic rings. Whether with holds or with reps, they are wonderful. They are also good with parallel bars, which is what I’m going to focus on because anybody has a couple of chairs sitting around (no pun intended).Take two identical chairs and face them toward each other with enough room that you could squat easily between them. While in-between the chairs, place your hands on a safe place on the seats, palms down. Lower yourself down into an assisted squat and then lift your knees up while also holding your body up by your arms. Your arms should be strong, almost to lock-out position and your torso should be as vertical as possible. What you want to begin with is to get your thighs parallel to the floor. Your shins should be perpendicular to the floor. Think of making a 90 degree angle with your legs. Once the legs are in position (as close to parallel as you can get them), hold them there as long as you can. Count your time in the hold with a rhythm which can be consistent during all times that you do this. Once your knees begin to fall slowly, hold out for a few more counts and then rest. I’d recommend doing this as a beginner variation twice a week. Shoot for a goal of 3:00 worth of holding within three sets. It might take you four or five or 6 sets to get to 3:00 (e.g. 60, 50, 45, 25), but your goal is 3 sets. perform no more than six sets. 3 sets might go 70 count, 60 count, 50 count. If you can hold for 3:00 within three sets, then you’ll want to begin pulling your feet up until you eventually arrive at an L-sit position.Now, get your girliest, prettiest, brightest women’s wear out for your next workout and just be you, be strong, and be girly as you work to strengthen your feminine core.Have fun bunnies!Candie -- source link
